Yesterday I turned 21.
I spent the day with family exploring the streets of Oxford, treating myself to new clothes and sipping on cocktails in the sun. We had a nice lunch out in a place called The Alchemist which made the best food, definitely recommend the chicken burger if you’ve got one close by! Dom came over in the evening, we ordered Chinese food, went to a local pub while we waited and ended the night stuffing our faces and watching 24 Hours In Police Custody (wild I know). But I couldn’t have asked for a better 21st. I didn’t want anything fancy, no big splurges or expensive restaurant. Just to be with Dom, my family and be home. My only requests were black and white ankle socks (mine all had holes in) and that we took some polaroid photos to add to my wall collection.
Saying that though I was completely spoiled with gorgeous gifts, balloons and cake all that I’m extremely grateful for. It’s always nice to drag your birthday out a little longer so I’m celebrating again at the weekend for a night out with friends and a lot more cocktails.
I pretty content with my life at the age of 21, sure it could be better, more thrilling but I’m trying this whole new thing where I don’t plan ahead too much and give myself age limits on goals. Slowly ticking off the little things and only thinking about the few months ahead not years.
Here’s to seeing what my 21st year brings.
